Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join their team in California. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in government, county, city, or public works accounting, and a strong understanding of capital assets.

Responsibilities

• Utilize expertise in government, county, city, or public works accounting to manage and oversee accounting functions.
• Demonstrate a strong knowledge of capital assets to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
• Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements and reports.
• Participate in audits and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Support the finance team with special projects and initiatives as required.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Analyze financial data and provide strategic insights to support business decisions.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the accounting system.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in accounting and finance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, ideally within a government, county, city, or public works environment.
• Strong knowledge of capital assets and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Tyler Munis or related software experience ++++

Required Work Hours

Monday to Friday, full-time schedule.

Benefits

The position offers a competitive pay range of $36 to $44 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
